11.01 CARAT OPAL AND DIAMOND PENDANT
Suspended from a 14K yellow gold chain, this pendant centers an 11.01 carat Ethiopian opal within an architectural setting inspired by Byzantine design. A carefully balanced arrangement of natural white and yellow diamonds was chosen to enhance the opal's natural play of light, allowing the gemstone to remain the focal point.
Admired in the Byzantine world for its luminous, ever-changing appearance, the opal was associated with light, protection, and transformation. Flashes of green, gold, orange, and crimson emerge from within the stone, echoed by the surrounding diamonds. Every element of the design is considered in relation to the gemstone, allowing its character to define the piece.
